2022 Shiraz Single Vineyard Gin
Being a warmer climate Shiraz Gin, this gin displays black fruits, liquorice and subtle spice. The palate is rich and juicy, with the Signature gin interplaying, adding complexity.
Description
Retraining of Mazza’s Block in 2021 made us search for a suitable replacement for the Shiraz.
We connected with our good friends at Roman Road Vineyard in Chittering Valley, and we sourced a single vineyard batch of Shiraz. Growing in a much warmer climate than the Eagle Bay Shiraz, we were very excited to see and taste the difference.
The process was very similar to the 2021 Shiraz Gin – we machine harvested the entire vineyard, and processed the grapes into several parcels. The riper parcel was kept very cold awaiting the gin, the least ripe parcel was made into our base wine, and then gin. The 2 parcels were combined, resulting in the 2022 Shiraz Gin.
Bottled by hand with minimal filtration. This gin will throw some sediment in the bottle over time just like a fine wine.
